Maria Isabel Marquez (name temporalily changed to Maribel or MI by the humans and spirits) is the protagonist of Maribel.A normal girl who gets stuck in a world of spirits where she learns to understand how to live on her own.

Maribel's growth into a capable individual is a core factor to the movement of Maribel's plot. During her adventure in the Spirit World, she matures from an meek girl with a timid personality to match her age to a cheerful, quirky, and optimistic young girl who makes new friends with supernatural creatures.
History[]
In the beginning of the pilot, Maribel is shown to be a shy, mild and obedient girl. But after her experiences at San Jose Bathhouse, she matures into a capable young lady.
Appearance[]
Maribel has dark brown hair and rosy cheeks. She is very petite and has a childish appearance, and a quite-pudgy face. Her attire includes a red cat hat covers her hair,a white shirt underneath her green dress, white socks and black mary jane shoes. While living in the bath house, she is barefoot and wears a light green nightgown or a pink nightgown.
