Mercedes Mariposa Cocavado, or Cece Cocavado, is the protagonist of Nightmare at Mercedes Street.
History[]
Cece was born half-human and half-ghost. She was born in Corcavado, an mexican magical land, ruled by her mother Carlota, but her father was just a usual human.When she was just a little baby, her mother gave her to Martin's brother, Jorge, because she was born with legs and couldn't live in Corcavado.
Personality[]
Cece is energetic and friendly but naive due to her enemies' cruel treatment. Some people called her unladylike and non-proper. Although she has come to embrace her ghost heritage, she loves to spend time with her friends.She is musically inclined, a trait inherited from her father, with a propensity for breaking out into song and (occasionally) playing on her mexican guitar.Cece wears a pink bracelet which Jose notes she has inherited from her mother.
Appearance[]
Cece is an Mexican girl. She has a circle face, and naturally creamy skin. She has brown eyes and long dark brown hair. When she came of age, her hair turns black when it came into contact the dead.When in school and at home Jose has her hair tied and wearing a red cat hat,yellow shirt, pink skirt,white socks and black mary janes. While in Corcavado, she wears her pink gown with a cross necklace,tiara, black mary janes and has hair loose and not wearing a hat.

Right away, when they first meet, Cece sees Jose as a true friend/ally, and after he comes to accept her and her presence in his life, she admits that he is her best friend on Earth.
Carmen Juez[]
Carmen is one of Cece's friends whom she meet in "Cece Mariposa".
Mr and Mrs.Cocavado[]
Cece, though loving her parents, struggles being under their watchful eyes.

- Cece is the only girl that doesn't have a color scheme that matches her eyes, because she is half human.
